Japan has always had a special place for me. In high school, I was a huge anime and video games fan. In college, I watched a bunch of Kurosawa and various other Japanese movies. Mrs. Minafi and I have visited there twice – once for fun and once for our honeymoon. Some of my fondest memories with mom involve us going out for sushi and laughing together. Other areas of Japanese culture I’m still exploring today – like Zen Buddhism.

The Minafi Money Map
I’m always trying to minimize my accounts. The feeling of having all of my financial accounts well organized and on cruise control is a relief to me, and I aim to keep these in balance. When a new account enters my radar with a benefit – perhaps a reward for use in the first few months – I weigh that against how much work it’ll be for me to do it, and how much it’ll complicate my accounts.
I thoroughly enjoyed a number of other posts describing where people were putting their money and decided to do the same!

When decluttering, one place that’s easily overlooked (for me at least) is areas where I have a bunch of something I use, but only use a specific few. The main culprit in my home is kitchen items. Coffee mugs, silverware, bowls, plates, spices, cups – there are few things I ever use up.
One area that has steadily climbed over the years for us snuck up on me: water bottles. Both Mrs. Minafi and I have received multiple bottles through our work which add up when you stay at a job for a while. More came into our house from various Disney adventures which always seem to include a water bottle.
